O! say can you see when the land was still free?
When our voice was still valued, and not governed by others.
Whose broad stripes and bright stars told the world come be free,
There's no king to oppress you and your neighbors are brothers.
Now we live in this land, where there's still no king to be had,
But now our government handles our problems no better then those kings had.
O! say does our star-spangled banner still stand for free haven?
O'er the land of the greed and the home of the craven?
When our voice was still valued, and not governed by others.
Whose broad stripes and bright stars told the world come be free,
There's no king to oppress you and your neighbors are brothers.
Now we live in this land, where there's still no king to be had,
But now our government handles our problems no better then those kings had.
O! say does our star-spangled banner still stand for free haven?
O'er the land of the greed and the home of the craven?
What is this from, Lady?

ReplyDeleteI am impressed.
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's was hard to make everything fit into the same rhythm as the national anthem, and some of it doesn't quite work, but oh well.
