Aspirations of 2013

So I've been ruminating about putting up a list of "resolutions" on my blog, and reading a friends list helped encourage me to take the plunge.  I managed to make some significant life changes last year, and this year i want to make more.  So I will now begin my hopes for 2013. Goals for the Year 2013: Choose and finish a whole novel's first draft I have a bad habit of losing interest in a story idea at the point when it becomes hard.  So this year I'm going to force myself to write through the writer's block. Learn new photography techniques and practice the one I already know Last year wasn't a great year in photography for me, but this year i can drive!  So I'm hoping to visit some fun locations and broaden my portfolio. Brush my teeth more regularly Laugh it up, but I truly have lost this habit.  I do brushing my teeth before leaving the house and the times I actually remember, but I could really improve my hygiene in this area.

January in Review

January Reads If I Stay by Gayle Forman I give this a three star because while this story was good and well written (regardless of the typos I ran into while reading), I just cant condone swearing the F-word. This went way beyond my three-strikes-your-out rule, I was so invested... A Swift Pure Cry by Siobhan Dowd Based on the description on the back of this book, the actual plot surprised me. I think I like it that way, so I'll keep from spoiling it and just let you read it to see what you think. Very different story then I was prepared for. A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron "Anyone who has ever loved a dog needs to read this wise, touching, often hilarious novel." - Dr. Marty Becker, veterinarian on Good Morning America I could not agree more with this

Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow

This is really good, similar and yet different then East by Edith Pattou. I just love fairy tale retellings, I eat them for breakfast. I love the story of Beauty and the Beast , and the East of the Sun, West of the Moon is so similar that I can't help but love it as well. Thank you, Jessica Day George, for your own creation of this story.

Reading Challenge!

So, Enna Isilee has put up a challenge to read 4 books themed "twisted fairy tales". My list is: Book of a Thousand Days Fairest Just Ella Beauty I hope to be able to do it! I will be updating on here when I finish a book. Keep watch until May 5, 2008. My first book: Book of a Thousand Days .

President's Day Weekend

So on Saturday, I went to a friends bridal shower. I had a lot of fun and gave her a nice photo album. There was lots of nummy food and I even curled my hair for the occasion. It's weird to be old enough to have friends that are getting married. It reminds me that I'm old. :P Afterwards, me and my mom went to Fred Meyer and I bought Taking Chances , Celine Dion's new CD. It has some pretty good songs on there. Her voice haves a lot of power. Some of the songs aren't as great as others though, but that's okay. :) Yesterday I went to a bonfire with some friend. It was fun. I also finished New Moon and I have to say I think I'm a Edward fan. To read my full review, click here . Now I'm sitting here in my pajamas convincing myself to take a shower. Here I go, I'm going, any minute now . . . really I am going. Bye.

How Not To Get A Permit

Today I took my driver's permit test, you can only get seven questions wrong. I got eight. I'm doomed to be dependent it seems. They said I could do it again on Monday. Sigh. On another note, we stopped at a bookstore and I ordered Austenland . That makes me happy. :) Mom wants to read it I think. She's going to help me out to pay for it. :D So if I don't get to go to Portland to meet Shannon Hale, I'll still be able to read her new book. Cheers!

Well, I guess I'd better post

Well, I've been updating this place. But I've neglected to post. As you can see I've began to read Just Ella. I'm madly posting on BOB(Books of Bayern). My parents think I'm insane, maybe I am, but I don't care. sometimes it good to be insane. I love Rping it's so much fun. It's like reading a choose your own adventure novel, only better. You control the story, every single detail (except for the other people's characters ;) ) but anyways, that's what I've been doing with my time. Yesterday i finally went in to get a permit to learn how to drive and guess what? It's super HARD to get a license. Nay, it's hard to get a permit. We thought all we need was proof of address, SS card, and a school ID. Mom made me one, since I was homeschooled. But no, you also to get a birth certificate. We don't have one on us, so we have to send away for one. *sigh* Oh well.
