A bookself, a superhero and a teddy bear reading group

I volunteer at the libraries on Fridays now. My mom wanted me to take some pictures for the new brochures they were making. There wasn't any children in the children's section so I used the stuffed animals in there instead. It was fun. The brown one is reading Winnie the Pooh. We had a bigger bookcase that we weren't using so I dragged it into my bedroom last night. Now I got the Louisa May Alcott collection I got for Christmas on my shelf. There simply wasn't any room for them before. And the rest. As you can see I have room on it too grow. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I now have every Shannon Hale book but Rapunzel's Revenge. Barnes and Noble didn't have it, grr. This sounds like a job for Amazon. But I at least have Princess Academy now. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In other news, after visiting Squeaky Books, I made my own superhero as well. I'm not crazy about the name it picked for me, but I think I'm happy with the look. That's all for now.

The Truth About Forever (Seriously)

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen rating: 3 of 5 stars I am seriously disappointed in this book. I could have like this book, but the F-word? Twice? I just can't continue, no matter how good the plot was. I admit I was thinking of going on, I always want to know what's going to happen, but I talked it over with my mom and it just isn't worth it. I don't care if the character saying it was just that kind of person, I don't need to be ambushed by a word people frequently misuse. I gave it a three because the plot had potential without that word. View all my reviews.

A special little boy who needs some prayers

I've meant to do this, but somehow it kept slipping my mind. But now that I remember here it goes. My mother's brother recently welcomed a new little baby in the world this month, he wasn't due until April and weighs only 2 lbs. Prayers for little Dylan (pronounced Dye-lun, according to my mother) would be appreciated. Prayers for comfort to his parents and prayers for the Lord's will be done. Thank you. :)

First Post of the New Year

Hey, it's been like a month since I made post. It's the New Year now. 2009 It's been an alright year so far. Can't complain about is so far. As you know, I have a library again. (Yay and Alleluia!) So I will make a list of the books that i got from the library: The Minister's Daughter = finished (already return. This was the first book i checked out after it reopened.) All-American Girl = finished (I read the whole thing in two days, I was surprised.) Pirates! (audiobook) = currently listening to this Al Capote Does My Shirts (A Shannon Recommendation) The Wind Singer (I remembered someone reading a book with this name and liking it) The Thief (So I can see what all you LRRHers are talking about) The Rumpelstiltskin Problem I'm reading in this new year! (Instead of ringing. ;) )

December

So, it's December the first. I don't really have anything to say, but that. NaNoWriMo came to an end, and I made it a little over half of 50,000. At least I tried, right? Anyhow, hope you enjoyed holiday cheer, and Merry Christmas! Oh, and my library is opening on the 20th, big yay there. I'm going to be helping with the grand opening as one of Santa's helpers.

Catherine Hardwicke's Twilight

Well, I've seen, hear, and will now tell. And no spoilers here. I do like it, I do. Yes, there is inaccuracies, but 500 pages in 2 hours isn't going to happen. The important thing is, the story, the main plot is the same. The character's behaved like they should, and I think the actors did a fair job of bringing them to life. My mom's friend that we webt with didn't like who they picked for Bella, but I thought Kristen Stewart did her job well, and I'm not picky so I applaud her performance. Edward . . . hmm, I don't know. You see, I am fine with Rob, as i said, I'm not picky. He did good with his American accent, I think I only heard him slip once. But I've always been a little meh about Edward. Sure he's a nice guy, sure he cares for Bella gallantly, but beyond that I don't have dreams of meeting him and kiss his picture before I go to bed. He's just a nice guy to me, sorry Eddie. Let's just be friends. Bella, he's a...
