The Big Game of Everything by Chris Lynch

My review rating: 3 of 5 stars Two brothers who are as different as sugar and flour, a golf complex owned by a grandfather who is a little bit crazy at times, and one summer. At the start of this book, these two brothers introduce their story, but mostly is the one brother, Jock, who narrates. This is a first person account about a summer of change and refocus. I thought it was a book more for middle school kids, but there were a few references that I wouldn't feel comfortable letting my ten year old brother read. Their grandpa is a little over-obsessed with getting money, which to him is everything. Jock's younger brother Egon, who in Jock's words is a little devil, is caught up in his money obsession. Here's where I mention that Jock and Egon are dyed in the wool hippies and proud of it. Which is the reason for the odd names and other odd things. Anyways, Jock soon sees that his grandfather doesn't realize what a good life he has, as he's too focused on t

For anyone who cares and reads my blog

I have recently joined MOLD4EVR, with BB and the other peeps. I've donated my services as a banner maker, and will attempt to make banners with links to the site. Then I encourage you to stick them on your blogs, to help promote this newly formed blog. I'll be posting my creations on MOLD once I have work out the bugs and such. So stay tuned, and if you would like to visit this site, and haven't before, click on the title of this post.

Introverted Thoughts

Well, I've been trying to figure out why I'm so happy for Twilight. I mean, yeah, I like the series, or why would I care? Even when I don't know that I would be best friend with Bella, maybe just good friends, because I don't hate her. Not at all, I just don't share her same philosophy or views. That's okay, and I know I'm talking about a character like she's a real person, but deal with it. ;) I was think about something else as well. Maybe it's another story that makes me excited. The story of a woman who went from average housewife to a New York Times Bestseller with a movie on the way. I think this would count as a Cinderella story. I mean, doesn't that give out hope for the rest of you writers out there? And I'm happy and excited for Stephenie Meyer, and how a simple thing like writing down a dream could change her life forever. I think I read somewhere, maybe it was the EW interview, but anyways she said she was only hoping to

Twilight Note and Girl's Camp

Click to view: Twilight Teaser trailer #2 Doesn't that make you excited? It sure did something for me. The more I see stuff about the movie, the more it seems really to me. And you want to know something else? I was listening to clips of audiobooks on this one download site. I listened to the clip of New Moon and it was an excerpt from the dream Bella has in the very beginning. And when the reader read about Edward . . . I almost swooned. Almost being the keyword. I guess it's all about delivery for me. ;) In other news, last week I went to girl's camp as a leader, I will now display some pictures I'm comfortable posting on my blog.

Here's some progress!

So the organization that's working to get our library open again has started a children's book exchange program for the summer. There using an open space donated to them in a shopping plaza. They hope to add a adult book exchange as well. :D Me, my mom, and my brothers went to take a look today, because they just started doing it today. There was a good start of books, picture books and easy chapter books and so on. It was almost going to a library again. I'm excited, and this might grow to become the new library. *dances*

A new shop

I made a new t-shirt shop with Cafepress. I decided to try it, because my mom said a friend of hers was making money with it. I've decided I don't like it as much as Zazzle. You don't have as much say on your designs, it decides how big the picture can be, and I just don't like it. But I'm keeping this site up because it took too much of my time just to delete it all. So if you click this link, you can see my merchandice: http://www.cafepress.com/nphotogenic
