Remembering January

Hi there.  I decided to think back on what happened in January for this post.  I kept wanting to post but not being very inspired on what to write. However, there have been some memorable things that happened that I will attempt to remember. Last Wednesday Evening to Friday I stayed with my Aunt Joy.  I feel we are a type of kindred spirits that can fall back into place with each other no matter how long it's been since we last saw each other. I finished three books this month, started four.  Currently reading Birthmarked by Caragh O'Brien.  It's nice to see this progress, when I feel like I've been in a little reading slump. A friend of mine has been in and out of the hospital.  I have this feeling this might be the moment I've been preparing myself for, where we may have to say our goodbyes soon.  His condition is life shortening and I have never had someone I knew as a friend die before.  I don't know how I should feel. I don't know what Fe...

Aspirations of 2013

So I've been ruminating about putting up a list of "resolutions" on my blog, and reading a friends list helped encourage me to take the plunge.  I managed to make some significant life changes last year, and this year i want to make more.  So I will now begin my hopes for 2013. Goals for the Year 2013: Choose and finish a whole novel's first draft I have a bad habit of losing interest in a story idea at the point when it becomes hard.  So this year I'm going to force myself to write through the writer's block. Learn new photography techniques and practice the one I already know Last year wasn't a great year in photography for me, but this year i can drive!  So I'm hoping to visit some fun locations and broaden my portfolio. Brush my teeth more regularly Laugh it up, but I truly have lost this habit.  I do brushing my teeth before leaving the house and the times I actually remember, but I could really improve my hygiene in this area. ...

2013 Anticipations **Updated**

Can you believe that 2012 is almost over?  It just seems like every year is shorter, I feel like 2012 had a lot of great things happen.  For one, I read a lot of great books this years, and I'll be sharing my list later next month.  I saw some awesome movies, listened to great music, and just in the nick of time, I got my license!   I know, you must be dreaming, but it's true.   As fun and exciting as 2012 has been, I can see 2013 bringing us even more fun .  So I decided to make a fun list of things I'm excited about happening next year : Getting a job Buy this with my savings: Watch Downton Abbey Season 3 Preview on PBS. See more from Masterpiece.

Merry Christmas, One and All!

Ambitous Adventures I Wish to Accomplish:

Okay so Cuileann made a list of thinks you wanted to do, and I decided I would follow suit. Live in Ireland, Scotland, and Australia. Go on a Safari. Visit Stonehenge. Write at least one book and publish it. Get one of my photographs in National Geographic. Visit Jane Austen's home. Meet LRRHer's (LittleRed down, everyone else to go) Have a spectacular library. Scuba Dive in the Great Barrier Reef (we should do that after we go to Ireland, Cuileann!) See Uluru a.k.a Ayer's Rock. Hold a Koala. Pet a Lion. Be out on a boat with a whale (preferably a boat that won't tip over easy, but low enough that you can reach out and try to touch it.) That's all that I can think of for the moment, to be continued.

Falling into Cold Weather

Today and yesterday it has been raining. It's the first real rain we've had in a while. Yesterday there was a little bit of sun, but today it's all cold and gloomy. Yesterday the rain seemed beautiful, it smelled good. But today it feels all bleak and cold. It surely is falling into Autumn here. I hope it starts getting happy again.

Looky what I found!

Today we passed a car show in a shopping center parking lot and stopped to take a look. And look what I found. Bella's truck! Bella's truck's brother! Bella's truck's cousin? (The one on the right, not the model t) A ford Bella truck And last but not least, Luke's truck from Gilmore Girls.

" . . . and I think it's going to storm today . . ."

Yahoo!News Weather (powered by the weather channel) says: Tonight: Scattered showers or thunderstorms, especially during the evening. Storms will have lightning and gusty winds, but little rain. Low near 55F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40%. So I looked outside at the sky . . . Yeah, looks like a storm to me too. Oregon is notorious for sudden weather changes, but this doesn't look like a stormy day. It's really hot outside, too. If a storm happens, you will see a follow up picture.

Here's some progress!

So the organization that's working to get our library open again has started a children's book exchange program for the summer. There using an open space donated to them in a shopping plaza. They hope to add a adult book exchange as well. :D Me, my mom, and my brothers went to take a look today, because they just started doing it today. There was a good start of books, picture books and easy chapter books and so on. It was almost going to a library again. I'm excited, and this might grow to become the new library. *dances*

A new shop

I made a new t-shirt shop with Cafepress. I decided to try it, because my mom said a friend of hers was making money with it. I've decided I don't like it as much as Zazzle. You don't have as much say on your designs, it decides how big the picture can be, and I just don't like it. But I'm keeping this site up because it took too much of my time just to delete it all. So if you click this link, you can see my merchandice: http://www.cafepress.com/nphotogenic

If anything will go wrong, it will.

Rant Alert! I will now release my stress on my blog. Things that are going wrong this week, starting Saturday. The clothes washer broke. The power in my computer went out while I was vacuuming. (Obvisiously I got it turned back on) And last week our Jetta broke. And my dad is basically going to loose his job, because of a stupid boss. Which we found out a while ago. Why. Now? I know we get our trials so we can grow from them, but it's getting to be a hefty list with me. Blah.

A camping trip to remember

Day 1 Basically, we traveled for an hour and a half to the campground. We set up camp, ate dinner, said hi to the friends we were camping with, then part of my family went to see the ocean, and then went to bed. My feet froze. Day 2 I woke up after a cold, uncomfortable, sleep deprived night. It was seven or eight in the morning, I don't remember. We roasted bagel over the campfire and ate them with cream cheese. Yum. Then me, my dad, and two of my brothers walked down to the Smith River to take a look. When we got back from the river . . . I can't remember exactly what we did after that, but soon after we got in the car and drove about fifteen miles to the beach. You'll see some photographs of the river and beach here . We went to two different beaches, had lunch, saw crabs, squirrels and birds , then went back to camp. Mom made this really awesome dutch oven dinner, then we visited with our friends until late. We went to bed. I wore socks this time. My feet still...

Evolution of a Needlepoint Butterfly

I made this: I started it at the beginning of the month and have finished it today. Its finished to me anyways. There's detail work that is suppose to be done, but I think it looks fine for now. I decided to do it for a project to keep me busy-ish and keep me off the computer a little more. It didn't work very well, but I still finished it and that's what counts. :)

I stuck my finger in the sock on a chain of those big fat Christmas lights. 3. I split my chin open while fight over a stool in the bathroom. I had to get stitches. 4. When I was four or five, I push my friend down the stairs. I don't think it was just for kicks, I think he was being a mean and I was mad . . . not that it was right. 5. I drank water from a watering can, even though my dad told me not to. It had Miracle Grow in it. As you can see, I'm still kicking. But kids, don't try this at home. Trying to Find Good in Today

Today, I feel like I was a slacker. So I'm going to list the good things I did today as I think of them. List: Fed my dog Did the dishes Wrote down a message and remembered to tell mom. Didn't spend ALL day on the computer (just some of it.) :P went outside to look at the stars. drank water and ate food. Prayed. Sent an email to RMSP (Rocky Mountain School of Photography) about what their schedule for Summer Intensive was like. So I thought of eight things. Not bad.
